Freaky Fly

I spotted this 5cm fly sitting on a leaf. It was considerably freaky when I noticed it looking around. I had no idea flies could move their heads about. I looks like this fly is molting too - notice the pink stripe on its bottom.
I have since found that this a member of the Robber Fly family, possibly Leptogaster cylindrica, and is probably just a female with a distended abdomen full of eggs.
