This is another shot of Knowlton Church, this time from within. It is said that the bell from the tower was taken one night by the devil himself and flung in a local river. At low tide the bell could be seen, but no one could pull it out. It gave rise to two local sayings: Knowlton Bell is stole, thrown in White Mill hole, and All the Devils in Hell could not pull up Knowlton Bell. As for the photo,it was incredibly dark in the church where the moonlight could not reach, so I got my wife to paint the inside with light using a torch. This was late in the session out there, and clouds were beginning to obsure the sky. I considered doing a white-balance adjustment to remove the yellow cast from the torchlight, but I thought it looked better this way, having seen both. The sky was masked, curves adjusted and Neat Imaged.
