Constellations

Constellations < PreviousNext >
A photo of star constellations in the sky above the field outside our house. I intented to shoot some fireworks, but whereever I pointed the camera they went off behind me. After a fair bit of tweaking, that I am not entirely happy with, this image mainly shows Auriga the Charioteer [A] and Taurus the Bull [T]. The bottom of Perseus [P] at the top, and most of Gemini [G] at the tree line.

Great colours, why don't you try making some sort of interactive script-based constellation map, as I know yer rather handy with the old PHP etc. Would be good to be able to see what one particular constellation looked like in the context of a photo... So, you get that done for tomorrow alright? :-P
Heather
Wow. This is stunning! What weren't you happy with?
Stephanie
I think this is a lovely shot. Was the sky purple or did you make it purple?
SteveO
Very nice, love the colour. Cant for the life of me work out how they came up with those constellations, i think its just me, im also crap at that game dingbats :-)
Ed
This is very impressive. The stars came out really well. I love the purple colour.

I rather like this. It feels like your sight really is being swept up into the heavens. I also very much like the trees. They add just enough to make this more than just a "space" image. Oh and yes, of course the purple tone is wonderful. If you want a site purely dedicated to space, check this link. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html I always find alot of these images look like they were made on computer (fractals etc) and then uploaded as images from space. Surreal

Awesome shot! I love the purple hue. Great work once again! :)
