Vortex Leaf

Vortex Leaf < PreviousNext >
Nearing the end of a long and prosperous summer, the leaf of the old Oak tree looked down at his fallen compatriots lying on the ground. It was time to let go. Little did it realise a second later a wormhole would open in the space-time continuum and whisk it away to a new and vibrant life on another world.

Coupled with the eerie lighting, I could just hear the Twilight Zone music playing in the background. A very cold picture!
SteveO
Hehe, i like the story and i like the light in this shot, very nice.
AF Photography
Fantastic lighting, how'd you manage it?
Chantal
Awesome lighting
owen
Very good - is that moonlight or something else?
CurlyToes
Thanks for the comments. It's just Sunlight. You can see I was facing almost directly into the sun backlighting the leaf. The image was desaturated and the red reduced and the blue enhanced.
Ed
I really like the lighting and the rays. Capturing the web adds a nice touch.
David Kapp
I really like the lighting. It does look like the leaf will be sucked into another universe.
tobias
I like this image. Imaginative capture. Surreal and a little eerie.
emma
very surreal! great shot
Alan Graham
Really "trippy" lighting - its almost sci-fi. Its good when things are lit in ways you wouldn't expect....
rob
This is really cool. I'm often hesitant to shoot backlit stuff but it can work well sometiimes, like here.
John
What more can one say but excellent work again.
garyx
Very surreal. Could be a scene out of Ghost!
John
Love the colours of this one - really great shot. At first I thought it was rain coming down, but is it just lens flare? Whatever, it works very well and definitely adds to the image.
